Drug and alcohol addiction hurts not only the
individual user, but the entire family. In-patient
drug rehab is what helps keep Christian families
from exploding under the pressure.
When alcohol or drugs interfere with an
individual’s ability to lead a normal life, it may
be time to consider hospital treatment for
addiction. The first person to talk to about
this is your family pastor or physician.
Oftentimes the addict is unwilling or
incapable of knowing help is needed.
In this case, a family intervention session
can be scheduled to confront the individual
about the need for drug rehab.
In the best case scenario, the family member
could get into rehab directly after the family
intervention session. This is not always possible.
Many facilities have a waiting list.
Out-patient counseling can be arranged to
help the family member and the family before
inpatient drug rehab begins. This can be a
very stressful time, as the individual may still
be abusing drugs at home, or sneaking off to do so.
Once the family member is safely into rehab,
the Christian family at home can relax for a
time, knowing that things are calming down.
Most rehab facilities involve family members
In treatment.
